Vincent H.R.D
This web site is the information that I’ve found out about my late fathers (Mr George Barber) involvement in racing and his work at H.R.D. Stevenage.
It all started when I found a clubman’s meeting card in with some old family photographs my auntie gave me in 1999 which stated that Mr G.F.Barber had completed the flying kilometre at Brooklands on the 17-4-1937 riding a 498cc Vincent H.R.D. As this was in the 1930s well before my time, Dads racing days weren’t talked about much, I did not know what type of bike he raced and to what degree, and I was hoping to find a photo of the bike so I could frame it with the card.
After many letters to many people the National Motorcycle Museum gave me the address of the owners club which told me that they have done a search as far as they could on the information they had. Working backwards from the date of the Brooklands certificate they found that a Comet Special, which is a tuned up road bike or a detuned TT replica whichever way you choose to look at it, was built for one Mr G.F. Barber. and that he took delivery of it on March 14 1936. In a separate spec: book for the engines there is a note that engine number TTC 17 was for Mr G.F. Barber machine, and this is the engine which was fitted to the bike built to his order. Vincents occasionally supplied “racing” machines which were then used as development bikes by the factory and the riders were partially factory supported which MAY have happened with my fathers bike.
I hope you find the site interesting and if you have any comments that you wish to make or information that may help me with my search, please e-mail me
Thanks for looking.
John Barber

Adamanda's Bikes Page
I fell in love in Spring '84. Which Bike? reported on the Laguna Seca launch of the Kawasaki GPz900R Ninja, and I was smitten. Two years, two CB125Ts and a GPz550 later, in August '86 I became the proud owner of an '85 Ninja. It lasted just six months until it was cruelly killed by a car driver, but she did the decent thing, and in March '87 I bought an '86 Ninja. which we kept (along with an FJ1200) until August '94. Amanda cried when it went.
In June '00 we sold the ZX-6R to an ixi, and the salvage of the wrecked GSX-R to a friend. In November '00 I was allowed to ride and bought another GSX-R, then in March 2001 I sold that to a (different) friend so I could buy the new fuel-injected GSX-R. (You can tell I like GSX-Rs, can't you? :-) ).
Good as this bike is, I still managed to fall off of it twice in '01 :-( (worryingly, both by losing the front): First in May at Donington and the second, in September when my scaphoid had (finally) healed, at the 'Ring.
In March '02 we replaced the broken RVF with an Ixion friend's better-treated example.
After a brief infatuation with the FireBlade, in June '95 we saw the beautiful Ducati 748. We tried to buy one, but we waited, and waited, and waited, and it never came. We even visited the factory to try to hurry them along. But it was not to be. We gave up ... KRC @ Donington, Sep '98 Coldwell, Sep '98
In November '96, after ten months waiting for our 748, we finally gave up and bought a ZX-6R and a '94 ZXR750.
Amanda on RVF Donington, September '99
In March '99 we traded the ZXR for a GSX-R600, then in August we bought a RVF400. 3 weeks later Amanda was knocked off the RVF at a trackday at Cadwell, and then in Easter 2000 I crashed the GSX-R at the Nürburgring, and it was 6 months before the neurologists allowed me to ride.

Animal World
My name is Animal. I'm an all-around gear-head. I'm into almost anything that involves internal-combustion engines. I'm currently building a 1956 Plymouth Belvedere into a gasser-inspired rod to use as a daily driver. I've been a biker for over thirty-five years, and I've also built a couple V6-powered trikes. Due to an untimely accident (torn rotator cuff), my plans to race a Super Stock this summer have been foiled. I'll try to keep my friends' progress documented on the "Lunch Bunch" page.
I'm a welder/fabricator, a custom painter, a part-time sign-painter, a glass engraver, a custom bike/trike builder, a car racer, a husband and father of two.
I'm a life member of Brothers of the Third Wheel.
BTW is a world-wide organization of trikers that helps put trikers in touch with others for sharing of information & ideas, news on events and state/province/country news, and brotherhood. Check it out if you're into trikes.

THE BIKER'S CREED:- :
I ride because it is fun.
I ride because I enjoy the freedom I feel from being exposed to the elements, and the vulnerability to the danger that is intrinsic to riding.
I do not ride because it is fashionable to do so.
I ride my machine, not wear it. My machine is not a symbol of status. It exists simply for me, and me alone.
My machine is not a toy. It is an extension of my being, and I will treat it accordingly, with the same respect as I have for myself.
I strive to understand the inner-workings of my machine, from the most basic to the most complex.
I will learn everything I can about my machine, so that I am reliant upon no one but myself for its health and well being.
I strive to constantly better my skill of control over my machine. I will learn its limits, and use my skill to become one with my machine so that we may keep each other alive. I am the master, it is the servant. Working together in harmony, we will become an invincible team.
I do not fear death. I will, however, do all possible to avoid death prematurely. Fear is the enemy, not death. Fear on the highway leads to death, therefore I will not let fear be my master. I will master it.
My machines will outlive me. Therefore, they are my legacy. I will care for them for future bikers to cherish as I have cherished them, whoever they may be.
I do not ride to gain attention, respect, or fear from those that do NOT ride, nor do I wish to intimidate or annoy them. For those that do not know me, all I wish from them is to ignore me. For those that desire to know me, I will share with them the truth of myself, so that they might understand me and not fear others like me.
I will never be the aggressor on the highway. However, should others mess with me, their aggression will be dealt with in as severe manner as I can cast upon them.
I will show respect to other bikers more experienced or knowledgeable than I am. I will learn from them all I can. However, if my respect is not acknowledged or appreciated, it will end.
I will not show disrespect to other bikers less experienced or knowledgeable than I am. I will teach them what I can. However, if they show me disrespect, they will be slapped.
It will be my task to mentor new riders, that so desire, into the lifestyle of the biker, so that the breed shall continue. I shall instruct them, as I have been instructed by those before me. I shall preserve and honor traditions of bikers before me, and I will pass them on unaltered.
I will not judge other bikers on their choice of machine, their appearance, or their profession. I will judge them only on their conduct as bikers. I am proud of my accomplishments as a biker, though I will not flaunt them to others. If they ask, I will share them.
I will stand ready to help any other biker that truly needs my help.
I will never ask another biker to do for me what I can do for myself.
I am not a part-time biker. I am a biker when, and where ever I go. I am proud to be a biker, and hide my chosen lifestyle from no one. I ride because I love freedom, independence, and the movement of the ground beneath me. But most of all, I ride to better understand myself, my machine, the lands in which I ride, and to seek out and know other bikers like myself.
Live today like to tomorrow may never come

Between the Hedges - 30 Years of Motorcycling...
30 years of riding motorcycles - the bikes I've owned. The day I passed my bike test the examiner, on bidding me goodbye, offered me a piece of valuable advice. He said... "keep it between the hedges".
2003 marked my 30th year of riding motorcycles and I thought it would be worth sharing the experience with other bikers. I've owned and enjoyed many bikes as you'll see, clocking up thousands of miles in the process. This little website is about those bikes I've owned and what I thought of them. It's the chronology of one man's motorcycling career. Since the site went up I've had countless emails from kindred spirits the world over sharing that passion for two wheels. I hope you enjoy looking through the articles and picture galleries - do please drop me a line if there's anything you want to say... Bikes talked about: Honda CD175

Biker Billy Cooks With Fire
Biker Billy Cooks With Fire. Warning! This site is hot!
Alright!!!
Hello from Sturgis, South Dakota, I am proud to announce that Biker Billy will be the food and lifestyle correspondent for the official Harley-Davidson web site during the 2006 Sturgis Rally. Starting Sunday August 6, 2006 check out my daily postings at Harley-Davidson.com, click on United States, then on experience, then on events, and then select Sturgis. If you haven’t yet set-up a profile, you will need to do that, the material will stay up for a week after the rally to give folks a chance to read it after they return from Sturgis.
This is a different assignment for me from my usual performance schedule. Combining my passion for motorcycles, my love of food and my knack for writing about both. I am very excited to be involved in this project and working with a lot of fun folks at Harley-Davidson communications and electronic media.
So if you are at Sturgis and see me say hello, I might just buy you lunch. Or from anywhere the World Wide Web reaches login and enjoy my adventures.

Biker Chick News - Photos, news and rants from the biker chick
Biker chick news homepage with photos, pictures, and stories about biker chicks, women bikers, women riding motorcycles, and one woman's experiences on a motorcycle.
Well first off, THANKS for visiting my website! Bikerchicknews is my home on the web for all my biker activities - well, at least the PG-13 ones! I'm Rebel Biker Mom (RBM), a nickname I selected because a). all bikers need a nickname and b). it seemed to fit my attempt to reconcile all the sides to my personality.
Take a minute if you want... or don't... to learn a little more about me - you'll find I'm 80 percent predictable. That means the other 20 percent is comprised of the unexpected. A Monty Python reference here, a discussion of underwire bras there... so don't ASSUME anything til you hear me say it! And if you have any questions, you can sure ask! I'll make an educated and informed decision as to whether to answer! :)
Meet... My bike!
What? You've been here 60 seconds already and you haven't yet met the Picky Bitch?? Allow me to make the introduction! PB is a 2000 Harley Davidson Sportster 883 in Luxury Rich Red. She's earned the nickname "Picky Bitch" because a). all bikes need a nickname and b). it suits her personality. To wit:
˜ She's slow to warm up
˜ She's unforgiving in the downshift
˜ She demands a lot of accessories!
Now doesn't that sound like a picky bitch to you? Well make no mistake, I LOVE the Picky Bitch! She's my first Harley, though I've owned Yamahas and Hondas, too, that were fine bikes. Still, there's somethin' special about PB. (More about why I love Harleys here.) She's been lowered, and outfitted with forward controls, buckhorn handlebars, a studded Mustang solo seat with backrest, and Willie & Max "Wild Willie" saddlebags to take me everywhere in comfort and style. To the right is a picture of her the day we added the buckhorns... for the most recent photo, head back over to the main page. She may be a Picky Bitch, but I wouldn't have her any other way.
Meet... My website!
I have to build websites. I can't help it - it's what I do, the way some people have to play golf, or hit the slot machines. Over the past ten years I've left the World Wide Web littered with my sorry attempts to communicate via the "NEW MEDIUM." Some were even successful, some entertaining, some neither... or both. I actually have a blog, here, but you probably don't want to read my conservative political whinings.
Now more about THIS website: Bikerchicknews.com, as noted above, is going to be my home on the web for bike-related stuff. I've managed to add something to it just about every month for over a year, so I figure it's here to stay for awhile. It includes bits and pieces of interest to... who? Well maybe other women who ride, or maybe guys who think biker chicks who ride their own are cool (they're RIGHT!), or maybe my sweet old granny. Doesn't matter, if you're here you're welcome! And as always, you can send me an email if you want to make a clever comment, witty retort, or snappy comeback to something you read here. (Just don't send me your liberal political whinings - I have enough trouble sorting out my OWN distorted view of the world!)
I hope to keep adding to this site, too - pictures now and then, personal bits, bike-related thoughts, ride reports - I LOVE doing the ride reports, whenever there's a ride report that means I got to RIDE. If you should decide to actually return to this site at a later date, first of all - BLESS YOU!! and second of all, just always start with the main page and check the link lists in the right column and the text-y stuff in the left column. That's where most of the new stuff will be. (Also check the Ride Reports page!)
Guess that's all you need to know to thoroughly enjoy this site... have fun, ride safe, and drop me a note anytime!

Bikers USA
BIKERS USA is about bikers, by Harley bikers, for all bikers, and provides bikers resources. BIKERS USA is dedicated to biker lifestyle by an independent North Carolina biker lady who rides a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, custom Sportster XLH 1200. I’m constantly updating the site which includes biker news, biker rights, legal issues, motorcycle events, veterans resources, women motorcycle clubs, Used Harley Hawg, Hog MC, Biker Tee, Bikers USA, and all previous content and material . BIKERS USA is suitable for the entire biker family. There are no pictures more explicit than what you would see at a bike week, or on vacation in Monte Carlo.
BIKERS USA has a slogan “Definitively American”, like a summer day on a Harley with your family. I am proud of my 12th generation American heritage, so it has the American flag at the top of each page. For the USA, there are motorcycle event regions and areas. In those areas, there are states. On each of the states pages, American Bikers will find events, useful Biker information, state laws regulating motorcycles and motorcyclists, and motorcycle rights. Some states have some terrific resource sites that may even be selected as an editors pick for Best Biker Site for that state.
BIKERS USA is also international. People everywhere are proud of their heritage and cultural traditions, and want to be free as the wind. There is nothing more expressive of this freedom than a motorcycle ride. For our international friends, BIKERS recognizes your pride. It’s BIKERS goal to eventually display all flags on your event pages. I have more information for bikers from Canada and Australia, so they already have seperate pages. Also, Europe has a lot of motorcycle clubs but just a few event listings to date. As soon as the European biker page is overloaded, some countries will get their own page.

Bill B's Motorcycle Page
I currently have too many toys and something has to go. I sold my 1978 BMW R100/7 . I still have a 1995 Kawasaki Ninja 500. I sold my BMW R1100RT and replaced it with a 1986 Honda GL1200SE-I Gold Wing and a 1995 Suzuki LS650 Savage. I found out that a Gold Wing is not the bike for me and the Savage was fun to ride, but it was just too short for me. I sold the Gold Wing and the Suzuki and I've now gone back to my first love, a BMW. I bought a 1978 BMW R100/7. I added a toy to the carport. I found a good deal on this 1995 Kawasaki EX500D Ninja. I recently bought a new Suzuki DL 650 V-Strom. I also added a 1996 BMW K1100LTA that is my work horse. I pull a Kwik Kamp pop-up camper with it. I have never really stuck with a name for a motorcycle, but when I rode this one I had one thought. This is the way a motorcycle should be. Karma seemed to be the name for it.

Canadianriders.ca
Canadian motorcycle riders, province-wide. Whats all this about? Simply put it's about finding other riders, making new friends and helping each other out when the need arises.
Ever worry about taking a long ride and the possibility of a breakdown miles from home?.
So you live in Canada or the United States, and are planning a trip.Lets say (Heaven forbid) that you find yourself stuck miles from home, with a flat tire or a damaged bike. Sure would be nice to have someone to call that can offer you a backyard to pitch your tent for the night, or offer advice on hotels, and give you local dealer info.....or maybe even a temporary home to park your motorcycle till you get things sorted out.
So before you make that trip, why not contact some of the riders listed here with your questions concerning your trip thru their citys/provinces. For help when travelling in the USA please click on the the link to US riders at the bottom of this page.
I hope that all riders find this site helpful. Ride safe everyone.
New.....Would you like to find others who ride the same bike as yourself ???. The listings are color coded so its pretty easy to find riders who own the same bike as yours, or maybe you plan on buying another bike and want some advice from current owners.
Wow!!!.......Now 232 Canadian riders listed here, and approx 250 riders listed on the US Vlx riders website.

CB750 Honda Choppers
Welcome to my CB750 Chopper page. The picture on the left is of my dad's bike, a 73 or so Honda CB750. The bike on the right is my bike that I am currently building. It's about ready to paint now, except for some molding. Pictures of my other bikes at the bottom of this page. These pictures are of my 74 CB750 Honda. It is mostly stock, except for the sissy bar, seat, handlebars, and exhaust. I haven't had much time to customize it to my way, other than putting some lights under the tank. This is my 81 Yamaha XS400. Sweet little ride, my first bike. A little rough, since almost everyone in my family used this bike to learn on. It was my grandpa's, and when he passed away, I ended up with it. When I got it, it had set in the shed with the gas turned on and the crankcase was filled with gas.

Church of Rolling Thunder
Welcome to the Church of Rolling Thunder. I am your host, Rev. Roy. The philosophies and direction of the Church are currently, and usually, in a state of flux, or what I prefer to call growth. However, the Church is a state of mind, of being, living, breathing, eating, dreaming about one thing: Motorcycles.. All are welcome here, no matter what you ride.
Currently within these pages you will find links for motorcycle related subjects, some of my recommended books on motorcycles, and some personal pictures and memorial dedications. This site is updated upon random whims, with no consistency. Life is like that. Deal with it.
I was bestowed my nickname on a motorcycle run one Memorial Day weekend about 1992. Later I became ordained through the Universal Life Church. Currently I do not perform legal ceremonies. That may change in the future though.
I am not a 1%'er. Nor do I have affiliations with any Patch-Holder club. I don't even ride Harley's myself anymore. But in my heart and soul, I am a biker. Both of my parents rode motorcycles since their teens (my Mother learned to ride on a Flathead). I could ride my minibike at five years old. I was raised in my parents motorcycle shop. I have over 200k miles of road riding experience along with thousands of hours of dirt/trail riding with no major incidents (knock on wood!). Many close calls to be sure where friends weren't quite so lucky...
Enough about me. Come on in, look around, then bitch about the site in my guestbook.
Live to Ride, Ride to Live!
But just Ride Damn it!

CUSHDRIVE - My home on the web.
This is where I show all of my motorcycles. I have had many over the years - too many! - and I have managed to keep a few pictures of a few of them, including my current bikes. - This is my primary streetbike. A 1997 Kawasaki ZG1000A12 Concours. One of the best all around bikes ever made. This is my classic Honda. It is a 1975 CB400F. With only 10,000 original miles on it,. the bike is in excellent condition. This is the current work in progress. It is a 1987 Yamaha FZR1000T. It is in very rough shape, but will be restored to a like almost new sportbike.
Here are just a few of the bikes I used to own. - This is my old FZR750RT. It was an old road racer that I put back on the street. More FZR1000 than 750, it is now being used for parts for my other '87 FZR. MY 1990 Yamaha FZR1000A. This was a bike I had always wanted. I found it as a complete mess, and re-built it to what you see here. It is now sold. I never rode it! MY 1986 Suzuki GSXR750 / 1100. My first hard core sportbike and my first road racer. An excellent bike which I should have never sold.

When we camp with our Goldwing and trailer, many people comment on our funky vintage canvas tent from the 1970's. Darryl got it in 1979, and if you take care of your canvas tent it will last you a LONG time. It was made by Woods, has aluminum outside poles for support, and doesn't need a fly (it never leaks).
We always have the coolest tent in any campground!
Darryl and Chris live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and have plans for touring North America in the future, so watch out, you may be seeing us!!
If you are interested in motorcycles, and would like to see the other MCs that Darryl has owned over the years click here.
We are a member of GWRRA, the Goldwing Road Riders Association. We attend the AB-A Calgary Chapter meetings. Darryl is the webmaster and membership enhancement coordinator.

Eddie.co.nz - Eddie's place on the Net. Welcome to my bit of the internet.
At the moment this site contains a bit about me but also is my personal portal, pulling in the news, weather, currency exchange and other information that I want to know daily.
I'm a 32 year old male, currently living in Wellington New Zealand. At the moment I am working on the WAP portal for one of New Zealands' mobile phone companies.
In my spare time I play the guitar, Mountain bike, and travel around where ever I am on motorcycles, as well as surfing the net and generally fiddling with computers.
This site is mainly for me to play around and learn an few things. I've just transfered it from Cold Fusion to Mambo running on PHP as it's better value for money for the hosting and I don't really have the time to develop my site in Cold Fusion.
My partner, Sophia, rides this 2000 VTR1000 Firestorm. It has a K & N filter and 2 Brothers exhausts as well as having been Dyno jetted to suit, aftermarket lower fairing, braided lines, and Ventura rack and pack system. It has covered 17,000km.

Honda VF1000F
This is my Honda VF1000F from 1984.
I traded my Honda CB900 1985 to the VF1000F at Anderberg Motor in Helsingborg.
I purchased a used "Pichler" engine-cover , 4-2 Vance & Hines exhaust system and side cases from Hepco & Becker .
The windshield was replaced to a higher model from Givi.
There were noises from the Camshaft chains after 80.000 km caused by a week original chain tensioner. In 1998, I found a VF1100C engine and it looked identical to VF1000. The only thing that differs (in my eyes) was the gearbox and bore. I purchased it, a big mistake !! The engines were sent to RG-motor for reassemble. Soon they found out that nothing was identical. It differs 2 cm on Camshafts and so on. The Valves was bigger and even the cam chain was different (hymo). The only thing that was possible to use were the pistons. To bore a VF-Engine is very difficult because there is a bottom tap just below the cylinder wall and they could be conic. I decided to do that even if it's very difficult.
The cylinders were sent to MMR in Malmö. The result was frighten, the cylinders became conical and oval. RG-motor had to order a used engine block from " Spinnin-wheel " scrap yard.
Everything in the engine was replaced that had any sign of wear:
- Gasket set A + B
- Honing of Cylinder, Cylinder head and intake.
- New Piston rings
- New Bearings
- New Camshaft chains and + tensioners.
- 3 new gears
- A new Shift fork
After the restore a Dynojet kit was mounted and the "bad" Vance & Hines 4-2 exhaust system was replaced with a Hindle 4-1 system because the effect was negative. The fact is the Vance & Hines system had lower effect than the original exhaust system (se charts) The air filter case was removed and a K&N filter was fitted. The main jets was changed to #140 and the mixture screws turned clockwise until they seat then out 4 turns. See performance specifications The Hindle exhaust system was purchased from Mitonga Racing in Malmö (040-194140) also see links to Hindle .
In January -00 the rear suspension was replaced to hand-made from Öhlin's .
The thermal switch, which controls the radiator fan is upgraded (Order part # 37760-KE7-003). It's the original thermal switch mounted on VF400 and it will lower the fan threshold by 10° C (50° F).

I'd Rather Be Riding
A short narrative about my bikes and holidays.
Hello and welcome to my website. As you can see by the pictures I ride and love every minute of it. I have been riding since I was a young 'un and God willing will be doing lots more of it in the years to come when I become an old 'un.
As for a bit about moi, my first bike was an old WWII bike, ($50 bucks I think, my brother bought it for me) a 50cc Villiers motor in a James frame. (a springer front end of sorts no less) The rear tire had a garden hose wrapped around the rim for a tube and no clutch so it stayed in 3rd gear and no brakes. I think I wore out a few shoes on that sucker. No on/off switch, you just grab the ole spark plug wire and yank. Watch out for the metal part on the plug lead, tends to make a person do the funky chicken dance till you can let go. I only grabbed it once, learnt that lesson pretty quick. Later I graduated to a 65cc Honda, a Honda 90, and a 250 Yamaha. Each bike didn't cost more than $50-$60, so needless to say a person didn't worry too much if it was dropped. In 1973 I got my first new bike, a 650 Yamaha, I put close to 10,000 miles on it that summer. Myself and a few friends, we all had bikes and rode all over the countryside. I got to travel all over Ontario and even made it out to the east coast. Lots of good memories from that summer. I had that bike for a couple of years and then sold it.
Fast forward to 1993 and I purchased my first Harley, a 1200 cc Sportster Anniversary edition. It sure felt good to be back in the saddle again, the wind, sun, rumble of the pipes, the outdoor smells, it just can't be beat. I managed to go to a HOG rally in Reno in 95 on the 1200, sure saw some awesome country on that trip. The only thing about the Sportster, the ride turned into an endurance ride, I had one hell of a sore butt by the time that trip was over. Still an excellent trip tho and I would do it all over again. In 2002 I became single and lo and behold I had some money to spend so being the spendthrift I am I bought me a brand new Springer in the springtime (go figure). I did my first trip to Sturgis and horror of horrors I trailered it. All I could think of as I was trailering was all of this beautiful countryside I was missing by not riding in it. So in 2003 I rode from Dawson Creek to Sturgis and back. The weather was awesome and the ride more so. There was the Hot Springs Rally the weekend before Sturgis in where else, but Hot Springs South Dakota at the Allen Ranch and I spent more of my time there. The HSR was put on by Swede and it was quite an enjoyable time and I got to meet lots of other members who post on the Hot Springs Rally board (now defunct). In 2004 I met a great lady and she just happened to ride her own 2002 Heritage Classic. She had never been to Sturgis so what the heck, one more trip, riding both ways of course so she could experience Sturgis and all that goes with riding 6000 Km for herself.
Well here it is 2005, I married that awesome lady I traveled to Sturgis with in May 2005 and for our first Honeymoon we are planning a trip down the Washington, Oregon coast in July 2005 with lots of sidetrips. We are looking forwards to some new adventures, meeting lots of people and seeing lots of great countryside.
Another year later and into mid summer of 2006 and the wife and I did a smaller ride over into Alberta, down on into Montana, across and over into Idaho and Washington and back on up into BC and home. We stayed mostly to the back and lesser travelled roads and this was the first trip I can remember where it was sunny and hot every day and not a rain drop in site, kinda nice. In November we are planning a Caribbean cruise with an outfit called Hogs on the High Seas. There won't be too much motorcycle riding, but there will be 1500 other bikers to get to know and share the cruise with. I will put that adventure on the website in December.
Anyhoo check back once in awhile for more pictures and stories of my future travels to new and exciting places, future bike rallies I hope to make it to, and past travels of some of the various countries I have visited and even rode motorcycles in. It takes a bit of getting used to riding on the other side of the road in Thailand. Who knows I might even get some of my 13 years living in the Yukon put on there somewhere too. "Hasta Luego!"

Ironheads Rule
Grab a Pabst and a smoke and come on in!!! Biker run pics, our Sportster XLCH, and some good ole scooter bums!
Bikes, Friends and Runs:
Days after the parties over you still hear the rumblings of bikes in your ears! you can even catch distant jokes being told and laughter from unseen faces...music to my ears! Even some splashing from the local chubby-dipping pool! Man, I love a good party!
Dave and I like to try to hit what runs we can, but since we're generally broke it gets hard! Our favorite runs are the OK VNV M/C memorials, every year we can! My favorite was in Wilson, OK. it rained all 4 days, i refer to it as the 'mudbowl 97'. The turnout was small but it was very very real! We still find some red mud caked here and there! We hit our local runs, the TX and OK Vet runs, got to hit Lake Perry, KS once, and I intend to go to OZ in coming years!
The 'big' runs to me are just too big and commercial. There's not the personal interaction as with smaller 'family' gatherings. We did the Easyrider's thing down in Waco their last year there, and it just wasn't the same commaraderie(sp?). So we're just happy with our little ones!
(Maybe i'll learn how to do the album thing soon! Here are pics of 'family' and fun! More coming as new film developed and older pics scanned...i'd like to try and do pages of different runs and such with some organization, but for now...this is it!)

KAWASAKI ELIMINATOR 175cc
KAWASAKI ELIMINATOR 175cc - One of the finest bikes in its class in the World. The Kawasaki Eliminator 175cc belongs to the famous eliminator series of motorcycles. In India it is manufactured by the Bajaj auto company under collaboration with Kawasaki. Arguably the finest bike in India and certainly the best cruiser bike ever made here.
This four stroke motorcycle has five gears to handle its 175cc engine which produces 15bhp @8500rpm. It has a maximum speed of 116kph. The kerb weight is 156kg which gives the bike good road stability. The bikes suspension is fantastic. It can take on the potholes and small craters on the road in its stride. The front wheel has hydraulic disc brake for accurate braking. The low seat height is a big plus for short stature riders. It is equally comfortable for tall riders with the brake and gear lever slightly upfront like in the cars. The bikes overall length is 2155mm with ground clearance of just 140mm.
Riding this bike has given me immense pleasure. I have been riding 100cc bike and scooter for more than a decade but this bike is in a different league altogether," the stuff legends are made of". Its riding posture, the low seat height, long handle bar, stretched out front wheel, fat rear tyre, good suspension system, electric start and the overall dynamics of the bike makes it one hell of a experience!monkey on the bike
I am planning to go on long tours on my eliminator soon and will keep you posted of my adventures.

Take a look at Elena's latest project, the Serpent's Wall. A fascinating look at Kiev's history of defending itself with the aid of a wall built most likely during the early 11th century at the request of King Yaroslav(he built upon the fortification work begun under the reign of Volodymyr Svyatoslavovich in the late 10th century). It includes photos documenting the WWII era bunkers that were built into the existing Serpent's Wall.

Mau-Asam's
Sammy's page with Moto Guzzi pictures and many more. Qui Vivra Verra. This is my R 1150 GS or Ge-eSe.
Along with my GS I have travelled, am travelling and will be travelling...
Well it is always very difficult to write something about yourself, I guess it would be easier asking someone to write it for you. Anyway, lets give it a try:
Born in Amsterdam and moved to Venezuela, first Caracas and later Caraballeda where we lived for 8 years. There I had a Honda 72 cc (ATB with 3 wheels), wanted a Kawasaki KZ 80cc but my parents would not let me buy it.
Moved to Hilversum, Holland at the age of 14. After High School I left for 18 months to Ixtapa, Mexico. Had a wonderful time.
Returned to Hilversum to join the Dutch Army in Seedorf Germany. Had a gorgeous time during my 16 months military service.
After that I sudied Hotel Management at the Hotel Management School Leeuwarden and became member of the student association Io Vivat Nostrorum Sanitas and my dispute Qui Vivra Verra.
Started my professional career at Dorint Hotel Schiphol for a 10 months traineeship at the accounting department. My first job at the American Hotel in Amsterdam (must visit the Nightwatch bar to see all the celebrities pictures)
Stopped with the hospitality industry and started working in the IT and still working in it as a project manager.
Bought a 1978 Moto Guzzi V1000G5 and later this GS.
My passions, travelling, riding motorcycle, making music, cooking for my friends and enjoy life as it comes.

We went on a longer trip to Alaska in 2001, but it was mostly by cage. :ˆ( We did circle Lake Superior on the ST, though. :ˆ) In 2002, we covered 10,000 miles on a trip to the west coast, including parts of British Columbia. We put another 10,000 mile trip behind us in 2003, returning to the Northwest, including Hyder, Alaska. In 2004 and 2005 we again made it out to the Pacific coast, riding 8000 miles on each of those trips. Independence Pass, CO -- click to enlarge (72kb)

Motorcycle corner : gatherings
Some people think that there is only one way to travel along a road, and that it involves 4 wheels. While I am not of the persuasion that believes in extended spells covering distance on just two feet, I am partial to the journey as defined by 2 wheels, one in front of the other.
For twenty years these wheels have been powered, more or less. There have been occasions I reverted to pedal-power bicycles, but it was only in the interests of health. And that says much about my motorcycling...
I learned quickly how to go fast. I also learned how best to relax when sliding along the road. I learned how to fix fallen motorcycles. I learned to stay dry and reasonably warm on a motorcycle, though it took a few cold, damp years to perfect.
As interested in crashing... um, racing as I am, I try to follow the racing schedules. Here are some dates and details to keep you going.
In keeping with the concept of listening to my own voice, here are a few scribbles on the bikes shows of the last few years held in the New York area

Motorcycle Videos, Blogs, Advice and Gear - WhyBike.com.
Why do I bike?
Some people ask me why I ride a motorcycle and others are curious but too shy to ask. It is not something that can be conveyed through conversations at parties, nor to coworkers while waiting to send a fax. It is a lifestyle, a recreation and a religion. It inspires people to push themselves to the edge, while taking others far away. But this is just the tip of the iceberg. If you ask 10 riders why they bike you will get 10 different answers. You still won’t understand why they bike, until you do.
I created this site out of frustration with the motorcycle sites out there. The forums where SPAM posts more than the users. The rants of elitists that care more about what you ride than how you ride. Sites where you have to pay to read a halfway decent article or links that have been dead for years left me unsatisfied.
I don’t claim to be the best rider in the world or know all there is to know about motorcycles, but through your help commenting on the blogs, submitting articles, shooting videos and sending us your trip reports we can try to document why we bike, while helping out those just getting into motorcycling.

My bikes :: by Bikerjohn
This is what I've had: -
Just returned to Beemers - this time an R850R. Great handling bike and such a sweet engine - much smoother than the 1150s.
Previous aquisition was a Honda Silverwing or 'Swing' as it is generally known. Fantastically comfortable machine, economical yet fast and agile and so easy to live with.
The Triumph Sprint was my everyday bike that did everything that I wanted and carried me over the Yorkshire hills and dales for 6 years.
The LE Velocette was just a bit of fun. I bought it as three boxes of rusty and broken bits a few years ago.
The BMW R100 is a 1980 model that I have uprated in certain areas like twin plugging, Brembo brakes, electronic ignition and lots of stainless. It is now married to a circa 1960 Steib S501 sports sidecar which, I believe to be one of the last ones produced before the factory closed down.
Matchless G12 - good old bit of British Iron - could go for miles before things started to fall off.
Stainless Steel
Every bike (and sidecar) that I own has everything replaced with stainless steel that it is possible to replace.
Exhaust systems, fasteners, brake hoses are all stainless steel, any new fittings or bracketry I always fabricate out of stainless.
Links inlude:

Honda Silverwing

My Current Motorcycles
Yamaha R1, Honda VTR-1000 Firestorm and CCM R30s.
My Major interest is Motorcycling, (big time)!! Over the past 6 years I'd guess that I have travelled approx. 150,000 miles (240,000km) on my bikes! If you are a biker and you're fairly local to Basingstoke, (Hampshire), UK. Please feel free to drop me an e-mail, we could arrange a bike ride one evening or a day at the weekend. I often go to the Lord Derby (Hampshire) or the Alton Cafe on Wednesday evenings. On Sundays I sometimes go to the Box Hill (Surrey) meeting, or just have a general ride out and about anywhere in and around
Hampshire (to the South Coast), Wiltshire, Berkshire, Surrey and West/South London. The A339 (to Alton), and the A272 from Winchester to Midhurst, (via a slight detour stopping at Harting Hill) are excellent roads. The roads around Salisbury are good, sometimes I go to West Meon Hut, the A32 is also good.

Poetry, stories, Tv shows - Bewitched, Get Smart etc, Dr Murray's Memoirs
A Motorcycle Dream - The Poem:
Some time ago I had a dream
I was in a big city on a street named Gleam
Everything sparkled like you've never seen
In that city, in that dream
Well, dreaming away as I snoozed in bed
A razzle dazzle sign said, "walk ahead"
So I walked up the street and found at the top
All ablaze in lights, a motorbike shop
Peering on in through the window pane
I saw rows of motorbikes and not one the same
The whole shop was polished to a brilliant sheen
Everything glistened like a sunlit stream
And the chrome-work shimmered on wide handlebars
While saddlebags studs flickered like the stars
I was dreaming a motorcycle dream!
Now, in that dream there was a salesgirl
She was filling motorbike tanks with fuel
She saw me and she gave her biggest smile
I, of course, smiled straight back
then we both weaved a track
between some bikes and met in the middle isle
The salesgirl's name was Eliza Lee,
Somehow she seemed familiar to me
She was leather clad and oozed personality
And the chrome-work shimmered on wide handlebars
While saddlebag studs flickered like the stars
I was dreaming a motorcycle dream
Eliza Lee, I soon realized, liked to ride them motorbikes
She said "Let's take a bike for a whirl!"
Don't ask me how we got to St Moritz
But that's where we were in a second split
going down a slope on a 1450cc.
And as we sped down the mountain through snow and sleet
Eliza was laughing on the pillion seat
because skiers were startled to see a motorbike ski!
At the bottom of the slope was the Hotel Ritz
We rode straight through the lobby and hit the glitz
Of a nightclub, where the bar was open and all the drinks were free
Eliza and I swung with that scene
While a new season dawned and the alps turned green
We danced to the terrace as a sun-shower came
And we sipped champagne in the falling rain
Then a cork from a champagne bottle went pop
And we were back again in the motorbike shop
And the chrome-work shimmered on wide handlebars
While saddlebag studs flickered like the stars
I was dreaming a motorcycle dream!
Well, I can tell you it came as a big surprise
When I suddenly awoke and realised
That the girl of my dream named Eliza Lee
Was lying asleep there next to me!
Hey, dreams are hard to fathom even if you're wise,
And in that dream I didn't recognise
My own sweet wife looking twenty three
And going by the name of Eliza Lee!
At breakfast I told her of what I'd dreamed
Of her and me and the bikes that gleamed."
I said "We fell in love in St Moritz
And you preferred love to a sales pitch
And the chrome-work shimmered on wide handlebars
While saddlebag studs flickered like the stars
Darlin' you were in my motorcycle dream
You were in my motorcycle dream
Yes, you were in my motorcycle dream!

RD350LC.net
This site is entierely dedicated to the first YAMAHA 2 stroke liquid cooled street legal sport bike: the RD/RZ350LC and covers all models from '80 to '95. You will also find all 250 et 500LC's sold in the world.
This bike is wonderfull because it gives many sensation, due to it 2 stroke engine with a very good ratio power / weight, easy handling, sound, smell and the fun you have when you ride it ! The RD/RZ350LC's are always a good remember in the memory of a bike rider who owned one !!! This is a very popular model and still appreciated: there are some 350LC clubs in France, UK, Italia, Holland, Brazil...! In the USA, due to stric pollution law, it was the last street legal 2 stroke bike !
When YAMAHA presented this bike in october 1979 to the Paris bike show, everybody thought thats 2 stroke was dead and the 350LC was the rebirth of the 2 stroke. For the first time in the history of bike, YAMAHA proposed a real competition replica bike (a road version of the 350TZ ! Yamaha use this parallel on his publicities & brochures). At this period, there was no very performing bike (750 was powerful but heavy and with bad braking and handling) and the "Elsie" (UK appelation) was powerful, light with a very good braking and handling. That's the reason why the 350LC was a "750 killer"...
This is the first model RD350LC (4L0 model code) without YPVS wich was the bigger volume of sales wich create the myth of ELSIE in 3 years ('80 to '82)! The following models reinforced it image of performant, fun and reliable bike. Thanks to the water cooling (compared to the air-cooled RD350 & RD400), the power could be increased without the typicals air-cooled problems: over-heating/spark failures/consumption and so a more reliable engine and quieter too.
RDLC is abbreviation of: Race Developped Liquid Cooled.

Thanx for visiting REDBIRD's Chopper Page!
I hope you find the "Ever changing BLOW-OUT" interesting enough to come back and visit again. The "MONTHLY BLOW-OUT" changes whenever I get around to updating it and may be inspired by other writers. We tolerate all makes of motorcycles and all races here, so if there is a problem with that you might want to hit the road, but you'll never know what you missed! Take a ride around the place and stop in anytime you please. Most important are the readers who have a story to tell and a bike to show everyone else. It doesn't matter if it is a current ride or a story of what life was like back when . . . I love to hear biker's talk about their experiences. So PLEASE send your stories and pictures in for me to make an article out of.

Ride Day Junkie
Blog about personal ride day, motorcycling interests. I am just an average man with a love of motorcycles. I don't care about make or size just as long as it has a motor and two wheels, I also like sidecars. Some say I am bordering on obsession; I tend to agree with then. Bikes tend to dominate conversation and my time, "I think I have to do something about that."
I didn't start riding until my late teens when a friend was going for his motorcycle learners I tagged along. I didn't have much interest in bikes then but I thought I would have a go. As soon as I passed the test, got my learners I was off to buy a bike. You can see the bike on my bikes page. Riding just got into my blood. My friends at the time, even after passing their learners didn't share my enthusiasm and new found freedom so never took riding up.
It took me over a year to go for my provisional license and I actually failed the first time, something about going the wrong way up a one way driveway, a week later I did the test again and past easily.
Not long after I bought my first large capacity bike, Yamaha FZR 1000, I frightened the crap out of myself the first time I rode it home, what a buzz.
Got married not long after this and in her heart there was no room for motorcycles so I sold it and bought a family car. I have to tell you I longed to ride again and even though I was threatened by all manner torture I bought another bike. This was a great time as I lived in an area at the time where there are some great motorcycling roads, the Dandanongs and the Yarra Valley.
I was working at Carrum at the time. I work as an Electrician for the transport system, but the traveling distance was getting me down so not long after the better half got pregnant we sold up and moved to Seaford, where we were living was becoming a bit of a hassle anyway.
To cut a long story short we lost our first son he was still born, it was a hard time for us then, but just over two years later I was blessed by my Son Liam, I try to spend as much time as I can with him but according to my wife I still spent to much time on the bike computer ect ect ect. I can't wait till Liam is old enough to ride with me.
Currently I live with the father in law," long story." I found a new hobby and this is ride days. I have converted my bike to a track bike only and I have to say I am having the time of my life, even in the worst weather I find the mood uplifting. The people are great and like minded, even the wife finds it somewhat interesting.
In the future I can see myself with another road bike but I will wait till my boy gets older, right now I am having a good time at the track and hope to do it for as long as I can.

Rolling Blue Thunder - Black Bike Week - Atlantic Beach, South Carolina
Rolling Blue Thunder is the -1 Black Bike Week motorcycle website on the internet today. Ocean Blvd in Atlantic Beach and Myrtle Beach is the place to be to see booty, bikes and babes.
Inside this website there are Black Bike Week pictures and other motorcycle related event pictures; Black Bike Week hotel information, Black Bike Week Hotel Evaluations, Black Bike Week Do's & Dont's for first timers, Motorcycle Club Information and lots of other information for the urban motorcyclist.
Though Black Bike Week is a predominately African-American celebration of motorcycles, motorcyclists and motorcycling, it is not exclusively for Black people. It also is not a motorcycle rally just for black bikes. Black Bike Week is attended by all ethnicities who love and ride Sport Bikes. Don't get it twisted though, Black Bike Week welcomes riders who prefer cruiser style motorcycles too. Black Bike Week is for ALL motorcyclists and enthusiasts!
The Atlantic Beach Bike Festival or Black Bike Week as it is commonly called, draws in bikers from all over the world to have the largest black beach festival in the world. What could be better than enjoying your Memorial Weekend at the beach? Well, try spending your weekend with over 200,000 bikers, girls, and just people who want to party hard all weekend long for one of the biggest bike festivals in the country!
For the last twenty-five years Memorial Weekend in Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, Atlantic Beach and the rest of The Grand Strand has been filled with the roar of finely tuned, exquisitely painted motorcycles adding to the aura of Black Bike Week. Everywhere you look there are scantily clad women either walking the strip or straddling the back of a motorcycle. The catch phrase “make it bounce” is very popular for this festival for some very good reasons. Don’t forget to bring your camera because you will want to take lots of Black Bike Week pictures.
Black Bike Week is Freaknik for people of all ages and ethnicities with 100,000 motorcycles. Black Bike Week is the Black College Reunion for people of all ages and ethnicities with 100,000 motorcycles. Black Bike Week is The Kappa Beach fest for people of all ages and ethnicities with 100,000 motorcycles. Black Bike Week is to sport bike riders what Bike Week is to Harley riders.

Scoottrash
YOU ARE INVITED TO TAKE A TOUR OF THE NEW WWW.SCOOTER-TRASH.COM NETWORK OF PAGES.
I HAVE TRIED TO CAPTURE THE FEELING THAT MAKES A PERSON PART OF THE SCOOTER TRASH FAMILY.
THESE THINGS INCLUDE; A LOVE OF MOTORCYCLES, A LOVE OF LIFE AND FRIENDS, LOYALTY TO EACH OTHER, LOVE OF FUN AND FREEDOM, A DESIRE TO FIGHT FOR WHAT IS RIGHT.
NOT EVERYONE THAT HAS A MOTORCYCLE IS SCOOTER TRASH, A BIKER, OR MY BROTHER. THE ONES OF YOU THAT ARE KNOW WHO YOU ARE. YOU HAVE A FEELING IN YOUR HEART AND SOUL THAT SETS YOU APART FROM THE OTHERS. TO ALL SCOOTER TRASH EVERYWHERE, YOU ARE THE BEST AND I SALUTE YOU.
WHAT SCOOTER TRASH ISN'T
BIKERS, IE; SCOOTER TRASH, ARE NOT LAZY INCOMPITENT, LAGGARDS. THOSE INCORRECTLY GROUPED WITH US THAT DO FIT THIS DESCRIPTION ARE MORE COMMONLY CALLED "WELFARE-TRASH". IT MUST BE NOTED THAT BEING ON WELFARE DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY MAKE ONE TRASH, JUST DOWN AND OUT AND NOTHING TO BE ASHAMED OF. REDNECKS AND WHITE-TRASH BUILT THIS COUNTRY (AND THAT AIN'T FIGURATIVE).
BIKERS ARE NOT STUPID. IN THE BOUNTIFUL IGNORANCE OF MOST CITY FOLK, THEY HAVE CONFUSED IGNORANCE WITH STUPIDITY AND PROVEN MY POINT THEMSELVES. THERE ARE OLD FOLKS IN THIS COUNTRY THAT NEVER WENT PAST THE SECOND GRADE AND HAVE MORE KNOWLEDGE IN THERE HEAD THAN THOSE ACEDIMIC BOOBS THAT PROFESS TO BE "EDUCATED"

SLINGSHOT.cc
Welcome to slingshot.cc, this web site is dedicated to one of the greatest sports bikes of all time, and the father of the race-replicas, the Suzuki GSX-R 750.
These pages focus on the second generation of the GSX-R750, the 1988, 1989 and 1990 model with the Slingshot carburetors.
I hope you will enjoy the web site, and I'd really appreciate your feedback and corrections/suggestions regarding the web site, JK
My Bike:
I bought my 1988 model GSX-R 750 in the fall of 2003. I was determined to get a GSX-R and after searching a
bit I found a near mint 1988 model for sale. A meeting with the owner was arranged and about ten minutes after first seeing the bike the deal was done. The bike had 60.315 km (37.478 miles) on the meter when I bought it, which is quite a lot but it still runs perfectly and I haven't had any problems with it, so I think that with the right amount of TLC it will run without problems for another 60.000 kilometers.
The '88 model is, as the first GSX-R 750 from 1985, oil and air cooled, the biggest difference between the first and second generation GSX-R 750, apart from the design, is that the 88 and 89 models had a shorter stroke and the "slingshot" carburetors. (read more about the technical aspects of the bike in the "tech" section of the web site).
During the time I have owned the bike it has been like having a new bike in the garage, as I mentioned above I have not had any problems with it. Since I bought it I have only carried out routine maintenance on the bike.
My bike is pretty much in its original state. The previous owners changed the original 4 - 2 system for a 4 - 1 exhaust system which saves a substantial amount of weight.
The bike is also equipped with stainless steel braided brake hoses. The only "modification" I have carried out myself is the single seat unit, I bought it on ebay.
I will add stuff to the site as often as possible, so check back soon.

Steven Raucher's World Tour
Steven Raucher's World Tour.
Introduction (new)
This trip started with both my brother, Robert, and I going in one direction around the world, it has now evolved into both of us heading in separate directions continuing our respective world trips on different courses using our individual approaches to greet the world as we see it. Travelling, diverging, laughing and crying. And the trip has only just begun. So here I am in Goa writing this introduction, to an otherwise unchanged précis of our life
We were born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa. We are one year apart in age and were practically raised as twins (when we weren't too busy killing each other). Robert moved to London in 1993 and Steven followed suit in 1995. Apart from Steven living in New York for a year, we have lived in London ever since. We have both been working as freelance computer consultants, until we decided to see the world on two wheels. From the time we decided to do this trip we had six weeks to do everything.
Planning a trip in six weeks required the following: buying the new motorcycles; getting visas for every country from England to New Zealand; buying camping equipment (never been camping before!); learning how to change a tyre (thanks Langley); getting two carnet de passages for the bikes (thanks to the AA); moving out of our flat; buying luggage (twice - it is a long story); learning how to read a map (thanks Mike and Barron); driving to Birmingham to get our two-way radios (thanks Darren); and all the other personal affairs-type stuff that one needs to do.
Robert handled most of the paperwork whilst Steven had to work one month's notice. Ever tried to concentrate when you know that you will be riding a motorbike around the world in a matter of days? It all seemed so easy.
So that is the story, boring eh? Perhaps we shall have more to tell upon our return...
Site has good info on R1150GS modifications made for and during the trip.

Streetfighternet
The Harris GSXR website. My name is Graeme Reed. I live in the North East of England and this web site is about my gixxer.
A BRIEF HISTORY OF HARRIS: -
Over twenty years ago, Harris Performance Products Limited was established by brothers Steve and Lester Harris and third director Stephen Bayford. The Harris company now designs, develops, manufactures and markets road and racing chassis and components for motorcyclists throughout the world. The trio's enthusiasm for motorcycle sport is as strong now as it was in 1972. They are great believers in the adage "racing improves the bred". So much so that their GP500 race team established in 1992 has been accepted and respected as one of the top private teams in Grand Prix.
The Hertford based Factory has the facilities and undoubted expertise for working with ferrous and non ferrous metals, machining and welding, plus the design, development and manufacture of fibreglass and carbonfibre products. Their skills go further than producing a large range of motorcycle components and accessories. Steve and Lester Harris who are still responsible for the design and technical aspects of the business, also act as consultants and manufacturers for other companies both in and out of the motorcycle industry, exporting their products world-wide. Stephen Bayford is responsible for the financial aspects of the company, the day to day administration and the marketing of both the Harris marque and the non-Harris products distributed by the company. Harris policy has always been one of constant development and improvement of road and racing components.
Over 2,000 road bikes have been produced and sold out from one-off specials to the famous Magnum range. After market accessories have been developed for dozens of standard motorcycles marketed by the major manufacturers.
On the race track, Harris machines have enjoyed success in all classes of road racing including Grand Prix, World Superbike, World Championship Endurance, Isle of Man T.T. and top Irish road races. Teams ranging from the top works equips to the smallest club set-up have to come to Harris for winning machinery for more than two decades. In 1991, Harris were paid the ultimate compliment of being one of only two companies world-wide to be licensed by Yamaha Japan to buy factory race engines for installation in Harris designed and built chassis for the blue ribbon 500cc Grand Prix World Championship class.
The efforts made by Harris Grand Prix to compete with the "big boys" in the 500 class what in 1995 was the biggest individual team with 5 x 500GP riders, not only attracted the praise and enthusiasm of the motorcycle media and enthusiasts, but also attracted the attention of Suzuki in 1996. Harris were invited to create, organise and manage the official factory World Superbike Team to race the latest Suzuki flagship, the GSX-R750WT. In addition to managing this totally autonomous project, Harris were also contracted by Suzuki to distribute factory type race kit components world-wide to Suzuki Superbike customers.
Over recent years the company has diversified within the industry, and is rapidly expanding its marketing operation, with famous motorcycling names such as Lockheed brakes, Dymag and Marchesini wheels, Silkolene lubricants and Öhlins suspension being marketed under the Harris banner. These products like all components and accessories designed and manufactured by Harris are "Race Proven"! Though this catalogue will give you an idea of just what Harris are capable of.

Suzuki XN85 Unofficial Website
Suzuki XN85 Unofficial Website. This website is about the 1983-86 Suzuki XN85 Turbo motorcycle, the rarest factory turbo (1153 Units Made). If you have anything you want to add or share with the website and its members please post in our chat forum.
Jan-?ke Petersson was the original founder of the Suzuki XN85 Unofficial Website which shut down in 2001. I finally found him and he forwarded me all the info he had about the bike so I can add it to this site to keep it going. Everyone knows there is very little information on the XN85 so I will provide over time every little thing I can manage to find. On this site you will see very rare technical documentation I have found or bought over the years, so check out our Articles section.
Go to the Chat Forum and Post Questions or Just tell Us about your XN85.
Best press quote:
"Nothing works better in the corners than the Suzuki XN85."
Motorcyclist, January 1983
An early-release 1983 model, the XN85 was quite different than its two turbo predecessors, the Honda CX500TC Turbo and the Yamaha XJ650LJ Turbo. Whereas they filled a rather vague sport-touring niche the XN was an unapologetic sport bike. It featured the first factory 16-inch front wheel (previously seen only on race bikes), low clip-on handlebars, rearset foot pegs and a single shock rear suspension, Suzuki's first Full Floater -- quite heady stuff back in the early '80s.
For a Turbo the engine was rather tame with boost kicking in around the 5,000 rpm mark. It pulled strongly from that point but always seemed a little too civilized for a bike with TURBO emblazoned so boldly on its fairing.
The XN85's forte was handling - there was simply nothing better at the time. If pushed to its limits the headers would touch down, but few riders were capable of that level of madness.
Yet these stellar credentials took a backseat to Suzuki's own lighter, quicker, and cheaper GS750ES released only months after the XN. The Turbo was quickly forgotten and Suzuki harbors few fond memories for the bike - Suzuki America does everything short of denying the bike's very existence.
Which is a shame cause the XN is a fun-to-ride refined motorcycle that's also proven reliable.
These bikes were at one time as hard to find as people who believe Clinton didn't inhale. But lately "for sale" signs on XNs have been showing up regularly. Therefore a revised value guide to the Suzuki Turbo is in order. We estimate that low-mileage XNs in excellent condition will bring about $3,000 to $4,000 on today's market but still be prepared to pay $7,000 and up for those in showroom condition, if you can find one. For comparison a 1983 GS750ES in worth about $1,500, tops. Interesting.

The FZR Archives
The FZR Archives - 'Largest' FZR community on the net. Links include: FZR250; FZR400; FZR600; FZR750; FZR1000
ahhh...now we're getting into my home turf. No, the FZR600 does not handle like an FZR400, and has little in common with a YZF-R6 (the aluminum frame alone sets the other two bikes apart). However, this bike still works as well or better on the road than any of its modern counterparts, at least until speeds are pushed beyond reasonable limits. And I have a rather generous definition of reasonable, especially when the roads involved are far from populated areas, clean, and offer a clear view through the apices and vertices of the fun stuff.
The 600's long-stroke mill is much better suited to street use than those of its recent competition. Even the highly-touted CBR600F4 feels a bit flat compared with the FZR until the tach needle sweeps past ten grand. And though the Fizzer is about the same weight as its contemporaries, it's narrower and runs on slender wheels, giving it a light yet precise feel at the bars. The suspension is compliant and quite comfortable on the freeway, yet still works fairly well when the horizon starts to tilt. A tank bag and tail pack transform this bike into a respectable week-long sport-tourer; an aftermarket shock and a pair of Bridgestone's BT-01's turn it into an extremely competent canyon carver.

The Happy Drunks Home
Well how the hell did you find my little home? Either I told you the address or you somehow stumble into here.
If you fall into the first category then you must be here for a reason and you already know me so you can skip the rest of the intro and have a look at whatever it is you came here for.
If you fall into the last category then, you're a poor poor lost sole and should press the back button as quick as you can. No? Well don't say you weren't warned, prepare to be bored like you never have before.
A little about myself, I'm no longer a single 30ish male who has just moved to a city called “Wagga Wagga”. I’m now out of the military after 19 years as an Aircraft Mechanic and Instructor. I’m now working for the department of defence as a civilian. I love riding motorcycles and 4x4 driving. Some of my work friends consider me to be a closet nerd, but that’s mainly because I can navigate past the porn while on the Internet. I use the Usenet quite a lot and my main haunt is aus.motocycles. I also frequent an online games site called Itsyourturn.com. Itsyourturn.com is a very special place as its where I met my wife to be. After a year and half of playing online together (obviously meeting when ever we can), my absolutely fantastic fiancé are now finally living together. We moved in together at the start of the year and I proposed a couple of weeks ago (thank you very much Certergy for sending out the ring repayments to my home address and not workJ). We also have a great (Naughty) Puppy and you may see him on some of the other pages.
These pages are mainly here for me to store stuff. It makes it easier for the times I'm away and using someone else's computer. It has a few programs that I find handy at times and various other files and links. It also has Pictures stored here of Aircraft and Motorcycles. As this is mainly a storage site, I haven't bothered with Guest books or page counters or anything else remotely as nerdy. Anyway, have a look around it shouldn't take too long.

The Holy Ranger
Legend of the Holy Ranger: The Lore, Artistry and Scholarship of Dr. Martin Jack Rosenblum.
This site is dedicated to the preservation of the Holy Ranger way of life.
"But destruction is just water rolling beneath a dream plantation
washing down on the spirit farm."From the title song of the
album, Down On The Spirit Farm, and the alternate version of
the song on the album, No Freedom, Honey, by Martin Jack Rosenblum.
Dr. Martin Jack Rosenblum was recently quoted in a story published in 1999 on the occasion of a lecture he delivered on the subject of Harley-Davidson Mythopoetics:
By Anna Driver
Sotheby's
CHICAGO, Sept 8 (Reuters)-Riding and owning a Harley-Davidson motorcycle is a spiritual experience that can transport riders beyond the boundaries of the blacktop, preaches Martin Rosenblum, Harley-Davidosn's resident poet and historian.
"There is something shamanistic about riding a Harley-Davidson," Rosenblum, told motorcycle enthusiasts and collectors at an auction preview held here late Tuesday. "There's something life-transforming about it."
Bearded, bespectacled and dressed all in black, Rosenblum, who is Milwaukee, Wis.-based Harley-Davidson Inc.'s chief archivist and historian, said the almost mythic appeal of owning a Harley-Davidson motorcycle is linked to the desire for a certain lifestyle.
"Harley-Davidson designs motorcycles that create a way of life," Rosenblum said. "People who ride motorcycles want something more than transportation."
Martin Jack speaks for all of us who ride.
Martin J. Rosenblum described his limited edition Harley-Davidson Sportster, the subject of "The Holy Ranger: Harley-Davidson Poems," a Trademark Licensed product book from Harley-Davidson in the eighties, as the ideal urban steed. He rides it into an American past populated with Texas Rangers and mountain men and political outlaws.
Rosenblum did not fulfill his childhood dream of owning a new Harley until he was entering his forties, although he had many previously enjoyed Harleys before then. By that time, he had established himself among an international community of artists known as the Objectivist Poets and earned a doctoral degree as a scholar in this field. He had undergone a career change. He quit trying to teach poetry at the university level to take a job that he considered of more use to his community, advising students who lacked college skills. He was recovering from a near-fatal illness.
"I realized that it was time to do things I wanted to do. One of these was to own a perfect specimen of a Harley." He had it delivered on a snowy, mid-winter day even though it would be months before he would be able to ride it. Rosenblum remembers going through an ordinary workday filled with joy at the incredible notion; "I've got a Harley-Davidson in my living room." Late that night, he got up and went downstairs alone. The only lights he turned on were the lights of the bike. He sat next to it in a chair for a long time.
The Holy Ranger started riding at the young age of 12, on Harley K Models that he acquired from the nearby Appleton race track. He not only had Harleys but Triumphs, Nortons, and a Ducati. His father did not approve of Marty owning a motorcycle, so he would hide them so as not to get caught. At age 16 while riding his Ducati in a nearby cemetery, he rode into the street directly into the path of an oncoming car. As the car squealed to a stop, Marty recognized the driver as his father. His father didn't talk to him for a while but never mentioned the incident. At 17, being a year wiser he acquired a XLCH Sportster which he hid in his Grandmother's chicken coup. All was fine until he injured his knee trying to kickstart the Sportster, and needed surgery. This injury and the memory of that time is still with him today. After Marty received his new 30th. Anniversary XLH he was visited by his father. As the two stood looking over the newly acquired Sportster, his father commented how nice the bike looked, then said, "but you've had a lot of them." Thank God for the winding paths of a cemetery in which to ride and a loving Grandmother's chicken coup in which to hide motorcycles.

The Kawasaki connection
The Kawasaki connection - I don't know why I like Kawasaki so much, I just do. It goes back to even before I had a driverslicense. I just knew I would get my motorcycle license and ride a Kawasaki. Sticking with Kawasaki will limit my choice of motorcycles (but maybe that's a good thing with so many models around), so I also keep an eye on the bikes of the 'competition'.
It started in 1984 with a secondhand KL 250 (single cylinder, four-stroke, off the road bike), which I bought after I failed my first license test. Back in those days it was possible to ride on public roads with a 'learners permit' and an L plate on the back of the bike (without supervision of an instructor, that is). I passed the second test and started using the bike to commute (school) until winter. Sold the bike the next year (why? that's what I am still asking myself too).
The story continues in 1986 with the purchase of a secondhand Z750B (parallel-twin). The bike was modified by a previous owner: higher handlebars, custom paint, 'homemade' 2 into 1 exhaust. This was the start of a period with lots of trouble. The electric system wasn't very well on that bike. The electric start failed most of the time. But the engine had then been cranked over a couple of times, resulting in unburned fuel in the exhaust. After starting the engine with the kickstarter that often resulted in an explosion that blew the inner part of the muffler onto the street (I always had to check that there weren't any people or cars behind me, when starting the bike!). For those interested: the Z750 story continues here.
In 1989 I bought a new, US model, CSR650. At that time I liked the LTD models, and this grey imported CSR650 was the option that was financially available. I had the bike for just over 2 years and was pleased with it, well, at least until I had a 2 hour testride on a Zephyr 750!!
I had arranged a testride on a Zephyr 750, I had the bike for 2 hours and was blown away by it's handling, brakes, seating position, looks, the whole lot (all this compared to the CSR). I couldn't wait to get one. But the dealer was on holiday, the b*stard, OK, mc dealers are entitled to holidays too, but they should be limitied to wintertime ;-) Finally, I got the bike in august 1991, on a tuesday, had the 1000km service the next friday and was off to Germany for the weekend. This bike stayed with me for 5 1/2 years and 116000 km. Thanks to a colleague I went on many holidays across Europe (with him and the Zephyr). I had the Zephyr until march, 1997. Back then I thought it was time for another bike. But Kawasaki did, at that time, not have a model that I liked to have.
Late 1998 I saw the first pictures of the ZR-7. Just the bike I was looking for: no nonsense, low budget bike. I had to wait until may 1999 for my ZR-7, but it was worth the wait.
In the fall of 2001 I thougth it would be a good idea to have a commuterbike (and not use the ZR-7 for commuting). A trail/dual-sports/off-road bike seemed like a good choice for that. But there aren't many bikes of that sort at dealerships. At last I decided on this new KLR650. Great bike. The single cylinder engine runs very nice, and sounds even better under accelleration.

Triumph Speed Triple Street Fighter
Triumph Speed Triple Street Fighter. A brief history: My Speed Triple was purchased in November '99 as a sixth month old write off. I put it back on the road and had a blast on it for the next twelve month's (you have to make the most of any good weather here in England).
I then stripped it down in January of this year and polished the frame, wheels and yokes, fitted the Dutch made light unit (much neater than Triumph's after thought) added numerous anodised gold bits, Triumphs own race pipe, modified the air box for better flow, but kept the original roulette green colour, because it really is hard to beat!
All in all, I now have a striking looking bike, which gives me the horn every time I open the garage door, which is the reaction every biker should have.
The fairing I have is called a Wraith Fairing. It can be purchased along with some other fairings that may fit the Speed Triple from Matt and Debbie Purdey on their Buell website: www.mpurdy.freeserve.co.uk or try www.trojan-horse.co.uk
Tell them I sent you, it costs just under £200 plus paint.
They also import the French made FSD bodywork for Triumphs at www.adrenalinmoto.co.uk
The air box mod consists of cutting two square panels out or the air box, upstream of the air filter, I found this on the Triumph hub site called T5net at www.t5net.com
"The high rise pipe I purchased second hand to keep costs down, but there are many pipes you can use. The anodized engine bolt kit is a readily available product, I got mine from Tasty Nuts. Try this this site for all types of fasteners from anodised to titanium at: www.nylonalloys.co.uk
I've also changed the gearing by fitting a 17 tooth front sprocket, one tooth down from stock. This gives it more bottom and mid-range pull at the expense of the top end power, but with only a small fairing fitted its a good thing- better wheelies !
Should anyone wish to contact me about my Speed Triple with any questions etc, I'll be happy to oblige!
Lastly, I have plenty of photo's of the strip and rebuild, but none of me actually riding it (too busy having fun I suppose) but if I get round to it now that the first day of spring has arrived, I'll gladly send them over to add to this page

Twisting Asphalt
Twisting Asphalt - a social Ducati blog.
Hey ya,
So this used to be a spot that I saved for a rather self-indulgent mini-biography about who I think I am. I’ve decided to make a few changes and here’s why…
When I started this blog in ‘04 I tried to put myself in the shoes of a potential reader and at the time it seemed logical to assume that at some point someone out there on the big ‘ol net would want to know more the author of this site; who they were, what they did, where they came from, etc. Seems to make sense, right?
Yet now that the site has been up for awhile it’s dawned on me that perhaps this was a short sighted concept or at least one whos time has come and gone. See way back when the site started there wasn’t much about me yet available on it. I was mostly finding my way through this whole blogging adventure, sorting out what I wanted to write about and how I wanted to write about it. Originally I had thought that TwistingAsphalt would encompass every aspect of my life - Football, Single Malts, Friends, Television, Work, etc. - but instead what I’ve come to realize is that I really don’t write about any part of my life except riding a motorcycle.
So as I started to think about how to make this website more effective and more interesting I’ve come to the conclusion that instead of simply listing a bunch of text telling all of you who I think I am, it’d be far more effective to pull out several of the posts I think best articulate what kind of person I am instead …
May 20th, 2004:The Lost Coast Expedition of 2004.
This was one of the first blog entries about riding that I ever wrote for TwistingAsphalt and whenever I think back about some of my more memorable rides, this particular adventure always rises to the top of the list. I guess 1,200 miles up the California coastline in just under week tends to stick in your mind for quite sometime.
May 27th, 2004:Sunride on a Thursday.
It was during the great Lost Coast trip, after a particularly sporty and engaging day that I first brought up the idea of picking up a liter bike to MotorMilt. Never being the types to shy away from making decisions, it was only a week later that we dove into the world of the Ducatistia. This post was written early in the morning on the day we went to pick up our first pair of Ducs.

Two Wheeled Tales
Two Wheeled Tales - A website about motorcycling by George and Gail.
Why This Site?
Back in the early days of the internet, I toyed with the idea of starting my own web page. The trouble was I didn’t really have anything I wanted to say. I suppose I could have done what many others did: post pictures of myself, my family, my cat, my pet rock, maybe a listing of my favorite pastimes, but to what purpose? So the years went by until, one day, I discovered biker forums. I became fascinated by the many personal narratives that could be found amongst the technical exchange. The similarity of some of their stories to those of my own surprised me. They also inspired me to create this web site. So I started to write.
What you’ll find on these pages is a collection of my motorcycling experiences. If you like reading about an ordinary person’s two wheel tales, progressing from the early days on mini-bikes to a current heavy weight cruiser, about the rides, rallies and events attended, and about the parts and accessories used along the way, then welcome to my web site; you’ve come to the right place.
On the other hand, if you are expecting an in depth technical discourse, complete with comprehensive “how to” information, I should warn you right now that there aren’t any. There are a lot of terrific gear head sites in cyber space; this just happens to not be one of them.
Ultimately, it is my intention to desktop publish “Two Wheeled Tales” as part of a family heirloom for my kids. I could never convince my parents to put down on paper their incredible journey in life, and it will be a pity that much of their history will fade away with their passing. I don’t want to make the same mistake.
I hope my stories will bring some amusement not only to my kids, and hopefully their kids, but to you as well. Thanks for visiting.
George

Weasels USA
Weasels USA - a drinking club with a motorcycle problem. Agoura Hills, California - Established 1993.
A Legend in Motorcycling Since Earlier This Week!
The Weasels USA was founded in 1993 in Agoura Hills, California. We don't really have "chapters," but over the years groups in other states have contacted us and asked if they could be Weasels as well. Since the Weasels started out as a joke, the Original Weasels told them, what the hell, go forth and be Weasels. Many of these groups have fallen by the wayside, some others have florished, and new groups are being founded all the time.
That said, all Weasels "chapters" are independent from the Original Weasels USA. They don't answer to us, we don't answer for them. Below are links to some of them. If anyone has a problem with any of them, take it up with them individually.
Fuck...I need a beer...

World Wide Wobble
Nick Vale, Motorcycles I've owned, BSA, Kawasaki, Honda, Triumph, Laverda, Ducati, Yamaha.
There's no such thing as the avant-garde, just the people a bit behind. (Anon)
That'll be me then - greetings Earthlings!
OK, irony chip disengaged, what's it all about? Well, things you like, I think, but, as you're here, mostly things I like (whose site is this anyway?) And, among many other things, I like motorbikes... though, to be honest, the many other things I like are more amongst the motorcycles than vice versa.
I ride in the UK and Europe, have been riding since 197something, longest time off a bike since then - six weeks, due to a close encounter with a Ford Transit (see Bikes, Laverda for gory details).
And this is my website - where you'll find details of some of my interests, viz motorbikes, holidays, and, er, motorbike holidays... Welcome, explore, and tell me how much you like it.
