American Bikers Active Towards Education
Dedicated to freedom of the road for all motorcyclists!
We are a non-profit organization dedicated to motorcycle safety, awareness, and realistic motorcycle legislation. Through the efforts of A.B.A.T.E of Louisiana, concerned motorcyclists, and supporters, Louisiana no longer had a mandatory helmet law for those eighteen years of age or older after the 1999 legislative session. During the 2004 session that was all changed. The House and Senate voted to re-instate the helmet law. We continue to live up to this mission statement and fight to repeal this law.
A.B.A.T.E. is not a club. Membership is open to all motorcyclists from all walks of life, riding all types of motorcycles. We are affiliated with national rights groups such as the American Motorcycle Association AMA, National Coalition of Motorcyclist NCOM, and the Motorcycle Riders Foundation MRF.
