Advanced-Motorcycletraining - NE England, UK
Advanced training at its best. With road and traffic conditions becoming increasingly complex coupled with the ever increasing improvements in motorcycle technology and performance it is essential that a good rider is able to adapt and keep pace with these changes to remain safe.
These are all solid reasons to consider advanced training to enable you to :--
* Improve your riding skills to make you safer and get more enjoyment from your riding. /
* Keep pace with the ever changing technology and Traffic situations. /
* Reduce levels of stress whilst riding /
* Less wear and tear on your bike /
* Improved fuel consumption /
* Lower your insurance premiums.
Advanced riding is about safety, skill and enjoyment; it’s not about stress and speed.
Your awareness becomes sharper increasing your anticipation and reactions to hazards and dangers as they arise.
Riding becomes pleasurable again as your concentration skills improve, allowing you to be smoother and ultimately safer under all conditions.
Advanced riding technique is an ongoing learning curve to develop your skills further.
Remember: "The best riders never stop learning."
TECHNIQUES :-- Advanced-Motorcycle Training base all instruction on the Police Pursuit method with techniques as outlined in “Motorcycle Roadcraft” which is the ‘bible’ for all advanced riders.
Following a short assessment and debrief of your riding style, our instructor then gives a demonstration ride, providing a running commentary throughout.
During the early stages of the training he acts like your eyes and gives you guidance and advice over the radio as the ride progresses.
You will be gently introduced to all aspects of advanced riding such as observation, planning, position, braking, use of throttle, cornering and many other aspects that make a good advanced rider.
Initially it will feel as though someone is sitting behind you guiding you through every stage of advanced riding techniques, pointing out distant hazards and dangers, assessing the situation and planning your approach to bends or hazards. This includes the correct time to reduce speed, what position to adopt, what gear you should be in and smooth use of the throttle to negotiate the danger.
As the course progresses, your new skills and ability will be constantly monitored and your average speed, particularly on bends, will improve considerably. You will be able to gauge your own progress and enjoyment as your skills improve during the ride.
Wet weather riding is a situation quite often dreaded by riders, but your confidence in the rain will increase considerably due to a smoother riding style and relaxed approach to the dangers of wet roads.
In most cases the main problems for most riders are inadequate observation, incorrect planning, poor cornering techniques and incorrect use of gears and power.
All of these headings will be addressed in depth until you are able to master the correct procedures, cordinate them and become a far safer rider.

Welcome to Bike2Bike Motorcycle Training

All of our instructors are fully qualified, experienced, patient and dedicated to getting the best from our students and at the same time making the whole experience fun and enjoyable.
We operate, weekdays, weekends and evenings. All learner training includes the free use of motorcycle, safety helmet and protective gear.
CBT - COMPULSORY BASIC TRAINING :--
This is the starting point for all trainee motorcyclists and is normally a days training. The first part of the CBT is conducted on an off road manoeuvring area where you will ride the machine until competent. This part of the training incorporates all of the basic riding skills, i.e. use of the controls, moving away, slow riding, changing gear, turning left and right etc. You will then ride the machine on the road for at least two hours. During the road ride your instructor, who will be in radio contact, will accompany you, giving you both directions and tuition. The training will end when you are able to ride the machine, on the road, on your own, safely. There is a two-hour minimum road ride period. After completing the CBT you will then be allowed to ride a machine on your own, on the road with 'L' plates for up to two years. The CBT costs includes motorcycle hire, safety helmet and wet weather clothing.
NB: At 16yrs you can ride up to a 50cc. At 17yrs and over you can ride up to 125cc. --------
RESTRICTED ACCESS (Under 21yrs) TEST TRAINING :--
After passing your CBT you will then undertake a number of three-hour sessions on the 125cc machine to bring you up to test standard. This training is normally conducted in the area covering all of the possible test routes. During the final session you will undertake your practical test. The test fee is £58. Generally most students require between 4-6 sessions. Once you have passed this test you will be able to ride any size motorcycle, however the power will be restricted to 33bhp (approx 250cc) for two years, after which you will then be able to ride any size or power motorcycle.
DAS - DIRECT ACCESS SCHEME (21yrs or over) TEST TRAINING :--
After passing your CBT you will then undertake a number of three-hour sessions on a larger motorcycle (500cc) to bring you up to test standard. This training is normally conducted in the area covering all of the possible test routes. During the final session you will undertake your practical test. The test fee is £58. Generally most students require between 4-6 sessions. Once you have passed this test you will be able to ride any size motorcycle straight away.
TRAINING DELIVERY :--
All training can be undertaken as either an intensive course, i.e. CBT on the first day, 2 three-hour sessions on the second day, 2 three-hour sessions on the third day with the test during the final session, or on a more leisurely basis, i.e. CBT on the first day, and the three-hour sessions over a period to suit your requirements with a test during the final session. This can include evening training as well as week days and weekends.
THEORY TEST :-- Prior to your final practical riding test you will have to have passed a Theory and Hazard Perception test. This is taken at one of a number of theory test centres (Reading & Basingstoke) are the most local. This test can be booked either by ourselves or directly by contacting 0870 0101372 or by clicking here you will be taken to the DSA home page. The website contains further information regarding the tests and some mock tests for practice. When booking you will need to be in possession of both your driving licence and a credit card. The theory test costs £21.00. To prepare you for the test you can buy a book called 'The Official Theory Test For Motorcyclists' from WH Smiths, Halfords, and Waterstones etc. This cost is £12.99.
ADVANCED / REFRESHER :--
Recently passed your test, not ridden for a while or just want to improve on your riding skills then why not receive some training to get the best from your riding. Training sessions are normally 3hrs and start with an assessment of your current riding skills. The remainder of the session will be concentrated on the specific areas that you would like to improve on.

We pride ourselves on being both patient and attentive. --- "To be the most customer focused motorcycle training school in the country." --- COURSES : ---
COMPULSORY BASIC TRAINING (C.B.T) :---
If your licence is Provisional or a full car licence with a provisional entitlement to ride a motorcycle then the licence must be validated by a CBT certificate (DL 196). The exception to this rule is a Full car licence holder who may ride a moped without the requirement for a CBT certificate.
The CBT course is based on five modules which will take you through: ---
1. The advantages of protective clothing. /
2. Machine familiarisation. /
3. Practical on site riding. /
4. Road craft and motorcycle safety. /
5. A two hour ride on the road. /
6. You must complete all five modules (to a satisfactory standard) before being issued with your CBT certificate. No time limit is placed on training which takes place at your pace. ---
You must complete all of the five modules to a satisfactory standard before your instructor will issue your certificate (DL196). The certificate then entitles you to ride for two years the following:---
* At 16 years old -A moped of no more than 50cc and restricted to 30 mph /
* At 17 and above- A moped or motorcycle of no more than 125cc ---
The CBT is not a test it is an assesment of your knowledge and rider skills. If you do not reach the required standard on your first visit then you will be invited to return on prearranged date to finish the course.
There is one exception to the above. A full car licence holder who passed their test prior to the1/2/01 may ride a moped without restrictions or L plates.
RESTRICTED ACCESS COURSE :---
If you are over 17 and under 21 then you are limited to taking your test on a machine no larger than 125cc. Having passed the DSA test you may then ride a motorcycle which makes no more than 33 BHP. This is effectively a probationary period and after holding this licence for two years it will automaticaly be upgraded to a full Motorcycle licence. You will then be able to ride a machine of any size.
DIRECT ACCESS COURSE (D.A.C) :---
Riders over 21 years of age are now eligible to undertake all of their training and motorcycle test on machines over 46.6 BHP. Upon successful completion of the test they are then able to ride motorcycles with no size or power restrictions. As with the accelerated access course, training will be tailored to your requirements which will depend on any previous experience you may have. In all cases your instructor will assist in putting together a package which will bring you up to test standard.
Fast Forward usually have test dates available and will accompany you to the test centre as well as providing a vital 1 hour brush up immediately prior to test.
INSTRUCTOR COURSE :---
Please bear with us whilst we revise our information on this course. In the meantime, do contact us if you wish to discuss your thoughts on becoming a motorcycle riding instructor.
STUNT WHEELIE SCHOOL :---
Learn to wheelie like a professional safely on Stunt Wheelie School's Bandit 1200's kitted out with their own patented special Wheelie Device. MSM - Marlow School of Motorcycle Training - Marlow, Bucks, England, UK
MSM - Marlow School of Motorcycle Training is a small motorcycle training school located in the heart of Marlow. Chris, the principal instructor is DSA Cardington approved.
TRAINING first started in 1997 & has now seen about 170 trainees through its doors ranging from CBT to full Direct Access training (DAS) - not a lot compared to most training schools but still a proud achievement for a single instructor.
MSM offers internal training facilities for the theory elements & the use of a nearby 'off road' flat & level training area for the practical elements before being escorted onto the 'on road' section of the training courses.
Compulsory Basic Training Courses (CBT) can be run daily from Monday to Friday to suit demand. Regretfully, weekend training courses are not available through personal choice (as this is Chris's time for personal biking pleasure).
125cc or Direct Access (DAS) test training is also available using either your own motorcycle or the schools own equipment.
Training sessions are usually slotted in during the working week to suit each individual candidate from 2 hour, half day & full day courses.
MSM's training policy is not to pre-select courses for candidates (eg. start on Monday test on Friday). Chris, the principal instructor, trains people to ride a motorcycle for pleasure - 'there is something wonderful & rewarding imparting knowledge to keen & interested people & everyone is an individual with their own rate of learning'. MSM prefer to to assess each individual after CBT or their first training session with view on their natural ability & how many further training sessions are required.

UK Advanced Motorcycle Training - various UK locations.
Advanced Motorcycle Training at its best Quality assured, and delivered by serving and retired Police Officers who have the coveted Police Grade1 Advanced Riding Award. TRAINING COURSES :--
So if you are thinking about additional skills training, where do you start and what course is best suited to your needs? In addition you will want to decide what budget to set such that you can get the very best value form any period of training taken.
So you need to think about why you want training and what skills you are hoping to improve, if you are still not sure of what to expect then simply call and talk through the various options so that any training can be tailored for your personal needs and expectations.
So here are the various options open to you with our training staff….
6-Hour Development Course - £140 ---
Advanced riding is for everyone and so are the skills required to ride a motorcycle safely on todays roads.
This course has been designed to meet the needs of a wide range of riders, so whatever your skill and experience level we tailor this course for you, which is why we run this on a 1 to 1 basis only.
This means that the entire duration of the course is dedicated to you and your needs. This allows you time to draw as much from the event as possible and leave you with a more accurate profile of your riding skills.
These events are very easy to arrange a few phone calls and you will be introduced to your trainer. These make ideal gifts for birthdays and Christmas if you are looking for something a little different.
We have trainers in all parts of the country able to assist with this and the other courses that we operate
A full profile report is prepared at the end of the day
MULTI DAY COURSES - £180 per person or £110 2 to 1 (Per day) ---
If you know what you want then the full day maybe the option for you and if you ride with a friend then very cost effective in real terms. The course takes a detailed look at your riding skills and in the time available seeks to work on any identified weak areas.
Having met with your trainer you will cover a safety briefing before getting out and onto the road, this allows a little time to relax before the road assessment begins. You will be invited to demonstrate your current riding skills to enable your trainer to consider the best options for the remainder of the session. This is all about looking at your personal riding style and tailoring the day to meet with your requirments.
At the end of the session a full and detailed profile report will be completed and sent to you so that you have a reference detailing any remaining weak areas of your riding skills.
ACCREDITED TRAINING COURSE LEVEL 3 QUALIFICATION Min 3-days for £299 2 to 1 ---
This course is unique to our company and represents a real opportunity for riders to develop their skills without losing their individual flair and style.
Many of the more recognised advanced tests dictate your riding style by ensuring that you conform to an often-rigid formula of delivery. The aim of this programme is to encourage self-awareness and the desire to improve skills without the loss of an individual riding style. It’s about being safe and in control at all times without the rigidity of some of the better known tests.
Despite the title of this course it has actually been designed for riders of whatever ability. The content of the course has been "evidenced" to an external accrediting body, in this case the Oxford Open College network, to ensure the quality of the training programme.
There is a period of theory training followed by 2 days of on road training, this is because to get the very best from you and the skills that you will be introduced to, its important to understand the theory to make the practical part make more sense. This allows you the opportunity of not only gaining more knowledge but also to challenge and discus area of riding that are important to you.
Theory days are set at various times and locations around the country, although the road elements are later agreed between you and your allocated trainer. This is a very good course because not only is it accredited, so recognises your efforts, but also there are other riders to share the experience with along the way.
At the conclusion of the course you will receive a very detailed rider report and certificate issued by the Open College Network. If you would like more detail on this course then please do not hesitate to call. All this for just £299
GROUP ASSESSMENT DAYS - £70 pp ----
In the last couple of years we have been developing a more cost effective way of offering training to a range of organisations and clubs.
Last year the "model" for these introduction and assessment days was used by the Buckinghamshire County Council`s "Be a Better Biker" days as part of their Road Safety initiative aimed at supporting motorcyclists using the counties roads. The scheme was over subscribed and as a result we are offering them again during 2005.
We also delivered a days training to the Thames Valley Vultures motorcycle club based at Twyford, nr Reading. (You can see their account of the event at there website)
The format takes a light hearted look at riding skills, with a serious message to deliver. We will answer any of your questions and concerns about riding as we deliver an interactive theory based session followed with a road assessment with advice, tips and help. You are with your mates so you will be in comfortable surroundings and with familiar faces.
These events are very popular and very cost effective so why not call us and find out how we can help you and your club or group benefit from this experience, from as little as £70.
